Valentina Evelyn: A Brief Review
It just occurred to me that I haven’t properly introduced myself! So, hi Medium, I’m Valentina!
I’ve been writing on Medium for around two years now, and I just realized that I’ve never formally said hello to all of the friends I’ve made here! So, without further ado, here’s my best attempt at a digital handshake and warm welcome to my page!
My name’s Val, and I originally started writing on this platform because I have a lot of feelings for the movies, television shows, and books I consume. However, rambling to friends and family about the current state of the MCU, gushing endlessly about my favorite pieces of science fiction, and spending hours overanalyzing the color palettes of every film I watch isn’t always possible.
I mean… I’ve tried, but at around hour fourteen, they start tuning out.
All jokes aside, I absolutely love media. I’m a science fiction fanatic, a superhero nerd, and a complete recluse who spends a great deal of time hidden under a blanket, hovering over my laptop screen until Netflix feels the need to ask if I’m still watching. I’m also an aspiring screenwriter, and the money I get from the Medium Partner Program helps me pay for much needed caffeine. I also like to think writing reviews, listing out my favorite pieces of content, and ranting on occasion helps me gain a deeper understanding for the craft of writing and what it takes to make a movie amazing. I’m still learning and becoming a more well-rounded artist, and every article helps me more and more.
Just know, every read, clap, and comment is appreciated more than you can imagine. Seeing my screen light up with Medium notifications is one of the best moments of my day. Knowing that I am part of such a creative, friendly, and supportive community of movie fans fills me with an invaluable sense of belonging.
